I have been impressed with the amount of good work Maui County Council has done this term.

I’m especially impressed by the professionalism and intelligence of its youngest member, Keani Rawlins-Fernandez, the only council member with a law degree.

It is very telling that she was unanimously approved as council vice-chair and chair of the Economic Development and Budget Committee in her first term.

Clearly, her fellow members recognized her organized contribution and wherewithal to entrust such a huge undertaking as a freshman member.

I will be voting to reelect Keani Rawlins-Fernandez the moment my ballot arrives in the mail and I urge all of you to return this brilliant young woman to the council.
